THE CCORC BOARD
PRESIDENT - John Marquez
I’ve been involved with CCORC since the early 90's. My favorite local trial is Bald Mountain.
“I enjoy the beauty of nature and the challenge of riding along the Sierra Nevada mountain range. I've found that fellow mountain bikers are diverse, friendly and share the common goal of having a great time outdoors while improving their health.”
VICE PRESIDENT - Nanci Sumaya
I became an official member in 2017. Prior to that I served as a volunteer for 2 years during the cyclocross races. One of my favorite local trails is the Tesoro Viejo loop. The trail is close enough to home that I don’t have to drive to get a quick ride in. I love the fact that I can extend the route or make it shorter, if I don’t have a lot of time to ride. I also enjoy stopping at Axis Cafe to have a cold drink & running into friends before heading back home.
My favorite aspect of our local riding culture is how friendly all the riders are. I also enjoy meeting new riders, learning from the more experienced ones and being active outdoors.
TREASURER - Marvin Foo
I’ve been a member of CCORC since 2007. My favorite trails locally include the three sections of 007.
“I love that MTB has taken me to places here that I would have not go to otherwise. I’ve also meet life long friends through our shared sport.”
SECRETARY - Andrew Miguel
I’ve been involved with CCORC circa 2011.
My favorite mountain bike trails? Ones I don’t have to pedal up.
My mountain bike gives me a reason to be outdoors after spending the work week indoors, great for the mental refresh. I have have met so many people that I would have never crossed paths with. CCORC provides a great opportunity to meet others who love bicycles and the outdoors.
MEMBERSHIP - Gary Bowser
I've been a member of CCORC since 2015. I started to realize that the work orgs like CCORC do are essential to mountain biking. Trails don't build and maintain themselves. No one else is going to do it for us. I became involved in 2019. My favorite local trails include the Lewis Creek to Nelder Grove. It has a couple challenging parts for me. But, the scenery (pre-Creek Fire) has always been what I like about it. The thing I love about our local mountain biking community is having a common interest with other people that I might not ever have the opportunity to be around. It has allowed me to experience different viewpoints and broaden my understanding of life.
ADVOCACY COORDINATOR - Justin Morgan
I first got involved with CCORC helping out at events about 10 years ago. During the Sierra National Forest planning process in 2019 I took an active role in developing our comments to USFS, and I accepted the position of Advocacy Director for the club at that time. In this role I am working to engage with land managers on existing trail management issues and working to create plans to develop more trails (and better trails!) close to home. My favorite local trail is Goat Mountain. I love being able to get out into nature and enjoy trails; both the physical and mental challenges of riding and also the respite provided by natural spaces. Getting new riders into the sport (especially kids and families) is very rewarding and is one of the primary drivers of my efforts to increase trail access and provide new riding opportunities.
CLINIC INSTRUCTOR AND COACH - Paul Dadoorian
I am one of the founding members CCORC and have been involved with the club on and off since its formation. Mountain biking has changed in many ways since I began riding in 1988. My favorite trail is where I'm riding. Locally I like Mary Jane to Willow Creek in the Bass Lake area.
Mountain bikers are a special breed of people. We go out on long rides, up steep hills, on hot or stormy days. My favorite aspect of the local riding culture is seeing so many new riders. Sharing my love for the sport with a new generation of riders. Oh... also friends and beer.
